Going on holiday can be amazing as you get to enjoy the hot weather, the food and drink, and to spend time with your loved ones. It feels great when you book the vacation, and you can’t wait to go. But a lot of people forget that they need to sort out a lot more than just the flights and hotels. Here are the top things people forget to organize when booking a vacation.
 

Pet sitter

A lot of people forget that they need to find someone to look after their furry friends while they are on holiday. It’s so important to book a pet sitter sooner rather than later, as otherwise they may get booked up. You should first decide if you want to get a pet sitter, or whether you are going to leave them in a kennel or a cattery. By getting it sorted earlier, you will be able to look at a couple of places and decide which is right to send your furry companions to. You might be able to get a discount from booking it earlier too.
 

Transport

After your flights are booked, you may need to sort out transportation so that someone will pick you up when you get there. You should arrange for them to pick you up from the hotel at the end of your holiday to take you back to the airport too. If you just leave it till you get there, you might end up spending way too much, and might not even get to the airport on time on the way back. You should also sort out airport parking so that you can leave your car at the airport when you arrive. Otherwise, you will have to find an alternative way of getting to the airport, such as catching a bus or train.
 

Travel insurance

A lot of people forget to organize travel insurance when they are traveling abroad. It’s important to sort it, or you may end up not being covered when you get sick. You can also claim on the insurance if something such as food poisoning happens and you want to sue the hotel. Some travel agents will offer travel insurance when you book, but not always, so make sure to check if you’re covered.

New passport

One of the main things people forget to check before they book a holiday is whether or not their passport needs renewing. You won’t be flying anywhere if you don’t have a valid passport. Remember that you should have a couple of months extra on there just in case you have to stay in the country. Get it sorted as early as possible as it takes a while for it to arrive.
 

Trips and tours

If you want to have a fantastic holiday, you need to go on some trips while you’re there. If you wait till you arrive in the country to book tours, you might be ripped off by the merchant. Therefore, you should look at sorting out the trips online before you go. They will be able to tell you the best time to go and book you in so you don’t miss out on the tour.
