Why It’s Time To Visit Pittsburgh
Are you planning a city break? Are you looking to get away for the weekend and spend some quality time with friends? If so, have you thought about going to Pittsburgh? It may not be up there with New York and Las Vegas in the bucket list stakes, but it’s certainly worth a visit.

What to do in Pittsburgh
A reunion in Pittsburgh may not seem like the most obvious choice. But this is a great base for sightseeing, shopping and indulging your inner culture vulture. If you’re making plans, here are some highlights to add to your itinerary.
Row House Cinema
This old-school cinema hosts an eclectic collection of new and old films. Join in a sing-a-long or laugh your head off at a comedy. Before you take your seat, head to the neighboring beer store and choose from one of five hundred bottles to enjoy during the movie.
Mount Washington zip line
If you’re up for a bit of an adventure, and you don’t mind venturing out of the city, head to Mount Washington. Zip lining is one of the best and most exhilarating ways to see the sights and enjoy incredible views.
House Poem
House Poem is a unique public art space located in Sampsonia Way. Featuring walls covered in Chinese calligraphy, this is one of four buildings that have been converted into quirky art galleries. Just around the corner, you’ll find the Mattress Factory. You may be fooled by the name, but this isn’t a place to lie down and catch forty winks: it’s actually a quirky modern art space!
The Andy Warhol Museum
Art lovers shouldn’t leave Pittsburgh without a trip to the Andy Warhol Museum. This is the USA’s largest museum dedicated to a single artist.
Shopping
Pittsburgh has something for everyone when it comes to retail therapy. You’ll find all the big names at the downtown malls, but there are also plenty of independent boutiques to explore. Grove City Outlet is the place to be if you’re looking for discounted designer clobber.
Eating and drinking
Pittsburgh is bursting at the seams when it comes to eateries and watering holes. After a busy day of sightseeing or shopping, there are plenty of places to refuel. In recent years, the city has undergone something of a foodie revolution, and there are some innovative options on offer. Head downtown for trendy, laid-back bars and cool restaurants. You’ll find a fascinating blend of sophistication and creativity here. Look for recommendations online. Remember to book if you are part of a large party or you’re after a seat at one of the hottest restaurants in town.
If you’re planning a celebration or a long-overdue reunion with friends, why not consider Pittsburgh? This vibrant city offers something for everyone, and there’s no chance of getting bored. Stay in the city and explore the shops, museums, and galleries. Or head out for an adrenaline-pumping zip line ride on Mount Washington. Make some plans before you go, and have a fantastic time!
